Eating Tips For A Healthy Low Fat Winter!
|
Food! not another article on food, I hear you say. But as we come into the long winter nights in front of the TV with our favourite snacks, we forget CSI doesn't stand for Candy Snack Indulgence and it becomes hard to fend off those extra kilos. We argue that we are putting on some extra insulation and then resort to wearing the baggy clothes as our tight summer clothes and those cute jeans just don't look good anymore. Get your thighs down to size, no butts about it! If this winter weight gain problem sounds familiar, welcome! You're not alone there, baby. Here are some winter eating tips that will hopefully reduce the number of those extra unwanted kilos that you will put on, WITHOUT reducing your diet to fruit and vegetables and depriving yourself of every winter delectable delight except kissing and shopping. The Secret Is HOT Food Eat lots of HOT food, as your body tries to turn food into HEAT in order to keep you warm. Soups are a good form of nutrition that are usually low fat, however be careful how many of those E numbers are on the soup packet. When I talk about E numbers I kinda mean all the additives and chemicals -disguised by those three letter numbers referred to as E numbers that you see on the back of food packets, and DO read food packets to be well-informed about what you're putting into your body. Drink To Your Health Drink lots of hot drinks, herbal teas and hot milk drinks, this will warm and fill you up. Try to eat more early on in the day rather than later on. Eating lots of fresh fruit and vegetables will keep you healthy and help ward off some of those winter bugs as well as keep you regular!! Organise An Eating Plan Organise your eating plan for the week on Sunday night or before you do the shopping, this will help you avoid the junk aisles in the supermarket. On that note never shop when you are hungry! Being fairly disciplined during the week will mean that you can afford to relax on the weekend. And the BEST news A note particularly for the women-yes it is true that chocolate is good for you! Those endorphins running around your body will not only give you energy but make you feel better too. Remember to balance energy in with energy out, so if you're exercising more a little treat won't break the butt; two squares of chocolate at 150 calories should be burned off with a half hour walk. A litle of what ya fancy... After all, life's about the good stuff. I like to work on the basis that a little of what you fancy is good for you. I personally believe that exercise is the key. Sure, it's hard getting out of bed on those frosty mornings but the best time to exercise is the early morning as you get your metabolism going for the day. So, warm food, bulk up on veges, exercising in the mornings, and a little bit of what stirs your martini-and keep on track for a fit winter! |
