Sweat, a bestpractice gym is due to open in October, 2011.
Located at the Valley Pool and in association with Best Practice Personal Training, 'Sweat' came about because I recognised that not everyone wants personal training for their whole lives (although all would certainly benefit!), but a large amount of local residents and businesses in our local area would be attracted to the convenience of our centrally located facility as a fresh alternative the big box gyms around us.
The motto of our gym, in keeping with our philosophy around fitness is
'Get in, get out and get a life'. I don't believe hanging out in a gym for hours on end is healthy or a good use of time. I think people who use gyms want to enjoy the benefits of what being strong, fit and committed to a regular exercise routine does for them, in their lives....outside the gym. The latest research tells us that efficient and relatively intense 30 minute workouts can be of greater benefit than the traditional 60-90 minute meandering of years gone by.
Besides this, we are also looking for people that understand there is no quick fix to fitness and that a life long commitment to movement is the only sensible approach to a fulfilling life. Sweat can be part of that commitment.
